FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WILDWOOD, NJ – It is with profound sadness that many of us in the City of Wildwood share in mourning the passing of Wildwood icon Jack Morey of The Morey Organization – Morey’s Piers.

Jack was a friend to all of us in one way or another. He was a visionary, like his brother Will, and their father and uncle before them. He spent his life travelling the far reaches of the globe in search of ideas to bring back to our little island – to the piers, waterparks, and the town – in hopes of making everything better all around him…all around us. Much of what he brought to life is the very appeal of Wildwood today. For that, we are eternally grateful. He will be memorialized in the very fabric of Wildwood forevermore.

While sometimes our ideas may have clashed with each other, the Commissioners have always held a deep respect and downright liking for Jack. You couldn’t help but marvel at his enthusiasm for everything he touched, his cheeky grin and twinkling eyes full of childlike wonderment for all things fun. Many of us have numerous fond memories of him and will cherish those as well as all the “Jack stories” of which legends are made.

We would like to extend our deepest condolences to his wife, Karen. Their love was palpable. Equally, we express our sympathy to his sons, Zack, Jordan, and their growing families. Jack was an extremely dedicated and proud father and grandfather. We also send our regards to his brother, Will, his wife Janice, and all their extended family, which included the entire Morey Organization.

Mayor Troiano, Deputy Mayor Mikulski, and Commissioner McConnell will announce a memorial in the city in the coming weeks.
